HPP was pleased to act as legal advisor to TOWII Renewables, a joint venture between Tokyo Gas, one of Japan’s largest gas utilities, and Danish renewables investor EWII in its first investment into renewables projects outside Denmark.
TOWII has acquired the project rights for two ready-to-build onshore wind projects from Finnish wind developer Puhuri. The Kopsa III and Ketunperä wind farm projects are located in Raahe, Northern Ostrobothnia and comprise a total of 12 wind turbines with a total capacity when installed of 74.4MW. Commercial operation is expected to be achieved in the first half of 2027.
In addition to advising on the corporate and tax aspects of the acquisition of the project rights by TOWII’s project SPVs, HPP’s team also supported TOWII’s project development team on the negotiation of all project agreements, including the turbine supply and service agreements with Vestas Finland.
