Joonas Huovinen specialises in EU, competition and regulatory law. He advises clients widely on competition law matters, including on internal audits, inspections and post-investigation assessments as well as compliance matters. Joonas has experience from competition authority investigations. Joonas also assists clients on state aid and foreign (non-EU) subsidies issues, as well as on foreign direct investment (FDI) control and the related notification proceedings before the national authority.
Prior to joining HPP Attorneys, Joonas has completed traineeships with the Finnish national competition authority, a Big Four Firm and the European Commission’s DG Competition where he worked in the regulator’s unit that supervises competition in the electronic communications markets.
