HPP’s banking and finance team has wide-ranging experience in complex and often high-value financial arrangements. We assist clients on assignments relating to syndicated lending, acquisition finance, project finance, bonds, high yield bonds, unitranche and direct lending, mezzanine finance, sale and leaseback, factoring and other asset finance, real estate finance and financing rounds of growth companies. We also regularly advise our clients in voluntary restructurings, contingency planning and distressed situations.

Energy and Renewables

HPP’s Energy team is widely-acknowledged as one of the leading teams advising clients in the energy sector on their Finnish legal issues. Our lawyers advise on assignments at the cutting edge of the fast-changing Finnish energy market, advising both domestic players and international clients on the legal aspects of planning and executing Finnish renewable energy projects and investments in the current regulatory climate across the whole spectrum of generation, from wind, solar to biomass to nuclear as well as advising on issues arising from the distribution, sale and trading of power in the Nordic region, including corporate Power Purchase Agreements.

Infrastructure

HPP has significant and long experience of advising clients on large-scale, high value and challenging infrastructure projects, having advised on a number of the highest value infrastructure projects ever executed in Finland. Our experience includes infrastructure projects in sectors including mining and extraction, construction, harbours and ports, roads and airport terminals.

Transactions

HPP has extensive experience in advising on corporate transactions, including private and public M&A, joint ventures, mergers and demergers, spin-offs and group restructurings, share swaps and business divestments. Our M&A team is regularly engaged on both sell-side and buy-side mandates, both domestic and involving cross border aspects, advising strategic buyers, industrials and private equity funds as well as corporate finance advisers on the execution of Finnish M&A deals.
